Lumen Glass Widgets (com.lumenwidgets.app) · Effective 2026-10-16 · updated 2026-10-16
Lumen is a set of home-screen widgets with a wallpaper gallery. It has no account, no ads and no tracking across apps or sites. The app talks to our website (glasswidgets.app, hosted on Cloudflare) only to download new wallpapers and lists, and — unless you switch it off — to send anonymous usage counts. We never receive your name, e-mail, contacts, precise location, advertising ID or any device identifier.
What the app uses
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| City or approximate location (optional) | Show the weather widget | Only the coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to fetch the forecast. Stored on your device. Precise location is never requested. |
| Calendar events (optional, permission) | Show today's events in the calendar widget | Read on your device only. Never stored or sent anywhere. |
| Battery level | Battery widgets | Read on your device only. |
| Photos you pick for the photo widget | Show them in the widget | Picked with Android's photo picker (no gallery permission), downscaled copies kept in the app's private storage, never uploaded. |
| Step count (optional, permission) | Steps widget | Read from the phone's step sensor on your device only. |
| List of installed apps | Let you choose apps for the shortcut widget | Read on your device only, never sent anywhere. |
| Journey progress (visits, streak, pages read, designs placed) | The story, collection and milestones | Stored on your device only. |
| None (download only) | New wallpapers and "The Harbor" list of our other apps | The app downloads public lists and images from our website (at most every hour for the Harbor list, every 3 hours for wallpapers). Like any web request, our host Cloudflare sees your IP address and app version; we do not store them. |
| Anonymous usage counts (on by default, can be switched off in Settings) | Decide which wallpapers and designs to make next, find bugs | Events such as "app opened today", "wallpaper X applied", "clock widget added", "story page read", with the app version, language, Android version and the number of days since installation. No identifier of any kind is sent, so events cannot be linked to you or to each other; only daily totals are stored (country is derived from the request and kept as a total). Switching the setting off deletes the unsent queue. |
| Widget settings (design, style, D-day, memo, units) | Remember your choices | Stored on your device only. |
Third parties
Weather and city search use Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), which receives the coordinates or the city name you search for and your IP address as part of the request. See the Open-Meteo terms. Purchases are handled by Google Play under Google's privacy policy.
Your choices
Location, calendar and activity (steps) access are optional and can be revoked at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Lumen → Permissions. Anonymous usage counts can be switched off in the app under Settings. The app does not use Android cloud backup, so uninstalling it deletes everything it stored.
Website
The website and its wallpaper gallery use no cookies. To count visits we store daily totals (page, referring site, country, device type, browser language) and a one-way hash of your IP address and browser that uses a secret that changes every day and is never stored, so a visitor cannot be recognised on another day. Wallpapers are free for personal use.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
